Piano transport
The craft began with a piano
In 1918 G. Harteveld took a job at the piano firm Mossel en Versteege on the Zoutmanstraat in The Hague. He looked after the instruments there and also handled their transport. Four years later he started out on his own, with two assistants and a handcart.
That origin has never left us. Moving a piano or grand piano is precision work: the right equipment, the right grips and people who know what is inside that case. Within the home, to a higher floor or to a new address.

More than a hundred years of Harteveld
From a handcart in 1922 to today's fleet. The red heart with the H has been driving through The Hague for decades.

The first Chevrolet
The handcart makes way for a motor van. Gerard Harteveld poses proudly beside it, number plate H-30293.
1950s
A growing fleet
Bigger vans, more work. The name Harteveld becomes known in The Hague and beyond.
1960s
A fleet of our own
Several vans on the yard, with Verhuizingen Harteveld on the body.
1970s

The second generation is at the helm. Removals and piano transport go hand in hand.

The heart with the H is painted large on the body, with the piano trade written right beside it.

Across the border

For upper-floor flats, walk-up blocks and houses with a narrow or winding staircase, which are common in The Hague. We assess this beforehand and bring the moving lift with our own operator.
Yes. If your belongings do not fit into the new home yet, we store them safely and dry for you, briefly or for a longer period. The storage period fits around your move.
Certainly. We handle moves to a care home or sheltered housing with extra time and attention, including packing, dismantling and assembly and handing the old home over broom-clean.
